According to legends, Kobolds were created from the same dragon’s teeth used to create the dragonborn, and arose from the ground when Jason planted the teeth to produce adversaries for him to fight as a test to prove him worthy of claiming the Golden Fleece. Jason was able to defeat them (by causing them to attack each other), but they were not all destroyed. Those remaining Kobolds fled northwest to start a new civilization amongst the southern Germanic tribes. These days kobolds have proliferated and are found virtually everywhere. Many of those still in Germania have come to revere a dragon of northern legends whom they call Fafnir. In Arabia, many have formed cults to the ancient god Tiamat. In Rome quite a few have become domesticated and can often be found as house servants.
